Anglo-Caribbean” barely begins to describe the Orchid Island home of Rody and Ann Sherrill, formerly of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee.
“We wanted a relaxed vacation home with an island feel,” explains Ann. “We have an antiques and design firm in Cashiers, North Carolina, where we live in the summer, and I’m much more accustomed to working with a rustic, log-cabin look. Because we couldn’t be here very much, we just turned the house over to Susan Smith and Susie Wilbur of Spectrum. They were clearly the tropical experts, and we were on the same wavelength from the very beginning.”
Susie Wilbur agrees. “The Sherrills are the easiest people I’ve ever worked with. Basically, Ann said, ‘Here are the pieces I’m bringing down with me, so go to it.’ They have so many lovely things that we pretty much just filled in the smaller pieces and picked the colors.”
