Porch, patio, veranda, terrace, deck, lanai, balcony – if you put a table on it, every meal eaten there becomes a special occasion. Why is eating outside such a treat, even for those of us who live here year round? Maybe it has to do with memories of childhood picnics, rowdy tailgate parties, or just because the air is soft, the sun is bright and the aura is a bit exotic, even though those film-clip images of starlit beaches and swaying palm trees can be seen here every day (well, almost every day). Eating out is one of the best reasons to live in Vero Beach because our semi-tropical climate lets you do it so often.
Many of our area’s fine restaurants acknowledge the allure of the alfresco experience and provide comfortable, casual dining on their well-appointed terraces and decks. The four described below do it especially well.
