The façade seems fairly predictable: the down-to-earth, proficient, no-nonsense, pillar-of-the-community plastic surgeon. But outer appearance is not always a guide to inner passion. For deep in the breast of facial plastic surgeon Dr. Ferdinand F. Becker beats the heart of another man, one with the soul of an artist.
Known simply as “Ferd,” this other, undercover man roams country trails from the Kissimmee prairie to the far western mountain country, seeking out exotic subjects, from the crested caracara to the perfect Canadian sunset. He paints his subjects, but not with palette and brush. His artistic instruments are the long lens and versatile f-stop. His medium is high-resolution color film. And his aesthetic fancies incline toward the interplay of color and light on the wonders of creation.
