“The goofiest one, probably my favorite, is such a furry Santa he looks more like an Old English sheepdog than anything else,” says Sara Shankland.

“He,” in this case, is one of an uncounted number of teddy bears, dolls and nutcrackers in the collection of Sara and her husband Bill, who live in Mariner Village. This Christmas-crazy couple takes three complete days to decorate for the season, utilizing up to half-a-dozen trees of various sizes and
narrative scenes with various themes. They’ve done it yearly for more than a decade “because it’s fun,” says Sara.
