The Cultural Council of Indian River County and Vero Beach Museum of Art partnered to showcase “Abstract Art: Conceptual Creativity,” on view in the Patten Community Gallery through October 9.

As part of the Cultural Council’s Art in Public Places initiative, member artists submitted 2D and 3D works of painting, drawing, ceramic, sculpture, and mixed media in abstract style. Often under-represented and misunderstood, abstract art tends to focus on line, shape, texture, and color expressions, rather than realistic or representational art. Featured artists include Elise Geary, Barbara Krupp, Dorothy Napp Schindel, Barbara Landry, Adam Conard, Joshua McMiller, Lila Blakeslee, Patricia Willis, and Yvonne Steere.
Visiting the exhibit at the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s Patten Community Gallery is free. Stop by Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
