
Counseling is an integral part of The Source, helping clients to uncover and deal with the deeper issues surrounding their homeless condition.
When Harry Halbert’s wife Nancy asked him to help serve Thanksgiving dinner at The Source he figured it would be a one-time thing. That was last November; today, Halbert is a regular volunteer, sharing the good news of the Gospel to the homeless and desperately needy.
“To be honest, I never had any interest in becoming involved with the homeless, but then again I didn’t know anything about them,” Halbert admits. “Nancy had become involved there cooking meals and so I went along. The thing that really pulled at my heart strings is that there are so many vets among the homeless and that really bothers me. These people fought for our country. I’m a veteran and it gives me goose bumps just talking about it.”
