Beautiful and prosperous, Indian River County has an abundance of success stories. The charms of the Treasure Coast attract so many new businesses and developments that growth has become a political issue. Parks spring up and glittering waterways sport an increasing number of graceful residences.

But success in a community is not always measured in terms so tangible. The mystery of character and the impact that one life can have on the development of others shapes the spirit and quality of life everywhere. Indian River County is home to these success stories also, and none shines brighter than that of mentor, coach and school bus driver Libby Page of Gifford.

Among a gallery of volunteers who work with the young people in our community, “Coach Libby” is a star in the firmament – or in a pick-up truck, school bus, van or borrowed car. For more than 20 years, and often without pay, he has transported girls and boys of all ages and backgrounds to sports activities, camps, practices and competitions.
