Writing A New Chapter

A sweeping view of John’s Island Sound was what sold Anna Nichols on a house that needed lots of tender, loving care. That was 26 years ago. Today, thanks to a spacious addition and several alterations, Anna’s home is picture perfect.

After living, loving, laughing and shedding more than a few tears in a house she has cherished for 26 years, Anna Nichols is preparing to move to a beachside condominium. While most often referred to as downsizing, she regards it as an exciting new chapter in her life.

As American poet May Sarton penned, “Life comes in clusters, clusters of solitude then a cluster when there is hardly time to breathe.”

This is Anna’s breathless time as she deals with the many details involved with a major life transition. It’s also bittersweet as she thinks back to what the house overlooking John’s Island Sound was like when she first saw it. “It had been neglected by absentee owners and was in sad shape, but oh, what a view of the water!” she exclaims.
