So you thought that staging your daughter’s wedding was complicated. Or that getting all the in-laws and outlaws and kids and grandkids together for your 70th birthday celebration was a total nightmare all-around.

Well try this …

•    Find lodging for 400 people for anywhere from four to eight days

•    Develop a plan to train, feed, transport and clothe 700 volunteers

•    Rent a fleet of vans to shuttle guests among 10 sites

•    Plan a lavish beachside bash for 650 people

•    Work out meal schedules for 500 people for a week

•    Secure three large office trailers to provide temporary work space for a dozen management types

•    Create space for 12 jiffy johns

•    Locate 38 fourteen-passenger vans at eight different evacuation sites to provide a safe haven in the event of weather emergencies

•    Erect a one-and-done, 60-foot long scoreboard for the two-round, hole-by-hole scores of 264 amateur golfers

•    Find a work station for the meteorologist that’s high enough so he won’t get interference from trees and other obstacles

•    And arrange parking accommodations for 400 or more vehicles each day for a week

Whew!
