It takes more than a soothsayer to predict the prosperity of the state’s 1998 residential real estate market. A cadre of highly trained experts is needed, but even with their expertise, it’s impossible to fit Vero Beach into the state’s mold.

“The high-end market is different,” says Linda Lindsey of Coldwell Banker Ed Schlitt Inc. and president of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. “We are a small community with unique characteristics and low crime, an area of beauty with so much land that has been purchased for conservation. It gives us added green space, and we are a quiet community that appeals to a special clientele.”
