Special Equestrians Of The Treasure Coast

Carriage-driving is a new program offered by the Special Equestrians.

There’s something about the bond between a human being and an animal that defies explanation. But that inexplicable relationship is there for everyone to see on Saturday mornings, when the riders and volunteers of Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast Inc. participate in a therapeutic riding program. Launched in 1992, the program has helped challenged students as young as four and as old as 40-plus in the struggle with their disabilities.

Patty Brown, of Patricia Davis Brown Fine Cabinetry on Cardinal Drive, was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the group, hoping to help her son Patrick, who suffers from cerebral palsy and still takes part in the program.
