Second Place, Nature-Flora "Purple Passion" by Arlene Willnow

A portrait of an artist with sparkling eyes, a toothy alligator lurking in the swamp, and a view of the cathedral-like underside of the Merrill P. Barber bridge were just a few of the images awarded ribbons in the Indian River Photo Club’s 2016 Juried Print Exhibit, which was on display at Vero Beach Museum of Art from December to January. Fifty photographs were displayed out of 83 entries selected for judging in seven categories: Nature-Flora, Nature-Fauna, Open, People, Special Techniques, Still Life and Scapes.

Entries by photographers of all skill levels were chosen by the jury, which included retired professional photographer and photography instructor Louis Ciszek, artist and photographer Keith Mills, and Greg Hills, a professional photographer, retired ship’s captain and world traveler.

The Indian River Photo Club gathers monthly for socializing and photo contests at the Vero Beach Community Center at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of every month, except November and December.
