APRIL 8: Cancer survivors and supporters took part in the American Cancer Society event Relay for Life of the Beaches at Riverside Park. Team members created movie-themed campsites and the relay kicked off with a survivor’s lap and reception, luminaria ceremony, speakers, performances and walking by participants throughout the night with morning closing ceremonies. The event raised over $100,000 and proceeds will benefit the organization’s mission to find cures that will help people get well and stay well.
