Healthy Start New Executive Director
Healthy Start Coalition Executive Director Rebecca Russell-Gootee
Rebecca Russell-Gootee has been appointed the new executive director of Indian River Healthy Start Coalition. She is responsible for developing a strategic plan for fundraising, as well as expanding the board of directors, creating advisory committees and enhancing the core support group.
Rebecca graduated with a minor in women’s studies and a master’s degree in social work and family therapy. She has 27 years of experience in the social services field and most recently served as executive director of West Pasco Habitat for Humanity in New Port Richey. She has also held various positions with the Arthritis Foundation in Tampa, the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and the YWCA in Evansville, Ind. Rebecca is a Certified National Victim’s Right Advocate through the National Association of Victims of Crime and has worked with first responders to the September 11 tragedy.
Healthy Start Coalition is a nonprofit organization that provides programs for families, including prenatal education, infant safety, parenting and child development, regardless of economic status, age or gender.
