A Christmas on Two Continents

Kyle and Chuck Ball owe their splendid Christmas collection to an odd combination of good luck and bad luck.

“The bad luck came when my grandmother Lillian’s precious collection of Christmas ornaments was destroyed,” explains Kyle. “She loved Christmas with the enthusiasm of a child and passed that love on to me. When she died, her Christmas collection was bequeathed to me but was accidentally destroyed while workmen were renovating our rental home in London. I was heartbroken.”

The good luck came later, after Kyle married private investment partner Chuck Ball. Though Chuck, like Kyle, hailed from the Midwest, the couple first met at the University of Florida.
