A one-pot dinner with shrimp, corn and sausage is an easy cooking, easy clean-up favorite of Carol and Joe Davis.

Cooking aboard a boat requires special organizational skills in order to avoid being a slave to the galley. You’ll need both the ability to improvise and the foresight to plan ahead. Hint: wear boat shoes: cooking and serving dinner while underway can be an exercise that gives new meaning to the phrase “a well balanced meal.”

Boats and Vero Beach are a natural match — every sort and condition of vessel, from kayaks and inflatable rafts to mega yachts both sail and power, is at home in our gentle lagoon. The Intracoastal Waterway accommodates safe cruising if you pay attention to the channel markers and to your depth sounder. The Fort Pierce and Sebastian inlets give access to the wide blue ocean  and its multifarious  fishes.
