April 27: The inaugural fine-art auction, Art of Music, raised more than $4,000 for Vero Beach Choral Society’s Music Scholarship Fund, which supports Indian River County high school graduates pursuing a music major in college.
Local artists Edgardo Abello, Reid Christman, Sean Clinton, Cynci Cutter, Lyn Durham, René Geurin, Scott Kelly, Shotsi Cain Lajoie, Marlene Putnam, Sharon Sexton, Emily Tremml and Quentin Walter donated half of the proceeds from the sale of their pieces to the VBCS. Scholarship recipient Jessica Aaron provided entertainment, singing light jazz and Broadway tunes while guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres.
