Ice cream is the ultimate comfort food. The creamy, frozen fusion is as traditionally American as apple pie, which may be why we so often serve them together.
Ice cream has universal appeal and is enjoyed as dessert, a mid-afternoon pleasure or an evening delight. Lick it, spoon it or slurp it, it’s an anytime treasured luxury. Flavors are available in every imaginable fruit and combination of sweet flavor and are often topped with hot fudge, caramel and chocolate sauces, fruit syrups and preserves, fresh fruit, nuts, candies, sprinkles, crushed cookies and liqueurs. For good measure, there are also sundaes, parfaits, sandwiches, splits, shakes and sodas and luscious and elaborate frozen creations such as ice cream pies and cakes and rolls.
