Law & Order In Indian River County

I had the pleasure of sitting down with several local attorneys in the conference room of Stewart, Evans, Stewart & Emmons, P.A., to discuss a brief history of law in Indian River County. Maybe it is a result of being in a profession that is often the target of jokes, or the fact that they face serious situations every day in their line of work, but one thing quickly became clear: these gentlemen have a great sense of humor.

“We started out with one huge courtroom when I began practicing law in 1955,” begins Judge Charles Smith, who served for years as a circuit judge.
