It Takes A Village...

The Hibiscus Children’s Village is providing safety and supervision to teenagers who have had little experience of either.

Abused. Neglected. Abandoned. Those words best described Sally (not her real name) when she arrived at the Hibiscus Children’s Village six months ago clutching a small scuffed suitcase. The 14-year-old with the sad brown eyes was in desperate need of a safe haven. She found it, and more, thanks to the acceptance, care and support the Village provides for youths referred by the Florida Department of Children & Families of the 19th Circuit.

Ever since the Vero Beach facility opened its doors 10 years ago, hundreds of children ages 13 to 18 have been welcomed and nurtured in a homelike environment where they have the opportunity to develop and grow to their fullest potential. Their time spent at the Hibiscus Children’s Village is literally life-changing.
