Meanwhile, Back At The Grove

There has always been a link between citrus and beautiful women. It probably began in the 17th century with Nell Gwyn, the London orange seller who became the most famous mistress of Charles II, an English monarch with an eye for a shapely figure (by all accounts, he also liked oranges, which were considered a luxury in his day). More recently, from the beginning of the Florida citrus business in the 1800s, attractive young women have graced many of the labels used by growers on their crates.

So what could be more appropriate than a fashion feature set against the backdrop of an Indian River grove? The models, as usual, are local residents, and access to the groves was provided by Countryside Citrus of Wabasso, one of the few family-owned citrus firms remaining in Indian River County.
